Job summary

Kitron in Senai, Malaysia is looking for a Quality Engineer to drive NPI QA, lead mass production yield improvements, and manage customer feedback including RMAs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product non-conformances, implement corrective actions, oversee supplier quality through audits, and ensure ISO9001/ISO14001 and IPC‑A‑610 compliance. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Experience in quality engineering on PCBA or related EMS industries required.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, FMEA, RCA and problem-solving methodologies (8D).
• Familiarity with QMS and ISO standards (ISO9001/ISO14001) and IPC-A-610.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to lead cross-functional teams.

Job Description:

1. New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Assurance:

   • Identify and analyze customer quality requirements during NPI phase.

   • Establish quality control points to ensure adherence to customer specifications and standards.

2. Mass Production Quality Yield Improvement:

   • Lead projects aimed at enhancing mass production quality yield.

   • Implement strategies to identify and address quality issues to improve overall production output.

3. Customer Feedback Management:

   • Handle customer complaints,Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA), and feedback promptly and effectively.

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer concerns and implement corrective actions.

4. Product Non-Conformance Resolution:

   • Investigate and resolve cases of product non-conformance.

   • Implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.

5. Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE):

   • Manage supplier quality through audits, assessments, and corrective actions.

   • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.

   • Participate in supplier selection and evaluation processes to maintain high-quality standards throughout the supply chain.

   • Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics and performance reports.

   • Support cross-functional teams in resolving supplier-related quality issues and improving overall supply chain quality.

6. Quality Data Collection and Reporting:

   • Gather, analyze, and report product quality data.

   • Prepare and submit quality reports to relevant stakeholders, including management and customers.

7. ISO System Implementation and Maintenance:

   • Lead the application of ISO standards.

   • Complete all documentation required for ISO certification and compliance.

   • Implement, maintain, and lead the audit of ISO quality management system.

   • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and requirements.

8. Process Quality Control:

   • Monitor and control manufacturing processes to maintain quality standards.

   • Implement measures to prevent defects and optimize production efficiency.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or related field.

• MUST be experienced in a quality engineering on PCBA products or related industry.

• Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis (RCA).

• Proficiency in quality management tools and techniques, such as 8D problem-solving, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Total Quality Management (TQM).

• Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO9001 & ISO14001.

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to EMS, such as IPC-A-610.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or patterns to drive continuous improvement.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
