Qualifications

• Secondary education qualification or equivalent; post-secondary qualifications in procurement, supply chain or business administration are advantageous.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and procurement processes.
• Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude towards learning and development.
• Prior experience in procurement, purchasing or inventory management in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with procurement software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and identifying suitable suppliers for raw materials, components and equipment required for manufacturing operations.
• Process and coordinate purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities and delivery schedules.
• Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement records in line with company procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and alert management to stock shortages or overages as required.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules and pricing negotiations.
• Prepare purchasing documentation, including quotation requests and supplier agreements.
• Assist in coordinating goods receipt and conducting quality checks on incoming materials.
• Support the purchasing team with administrative tasks and report on procurement activities.
• Maintain compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Contribute to identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the procurement function.
