Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia (Ipoh) is seeking an experienced Process Engineer Associate to execute engineering tasks and support production in achieving KPIs across Output, Quality, and Scrap Cost.

This role is onsite, demanding strong analytical skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will conduct verifications, buyoffs for critical processes like coating, collect wafer data (WAT, SEM, SIM), and drive continuous improvement while adapting to rapid business needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering with Mechatronics or Mechanical focus.
• 3–5 years of semiconductor Front-of-Line (FOL) experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering tasks and support production to achieve KPIs (Output, Quality, Scrap Cost).
• Perform periodic verifications and manage process fallout dispositions.
• Conduct buyoff activities for critical processes such as the coating process.
• Perform wafer data collection (WAT, SEM, SIM) for process engineers.
• Follow up on Special Build Requests and compile data summaries.
• Demonstrate strong observational skills to detect discrepancies and understand test processes.
• Communicate effectively with peers and cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration.
• Provide clear updates and feedback to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize resource utilization.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior.

Education & Experience

Diploma in Engineering, preferably with a major in Mechatronics and Mechanical. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically in Front‑of‑Line (FOL) processes such as wafer sawing, wafer scribe/cleave, die sorting, and die attach.

Skills

Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving

Willing to work on 12-hours shift, independently and able to solve basic technical issues.

Good computer literacy, SPC & OPAC knowledge.

Must exhibit a strong sense of analytical skills with hands on working attitude.

Adaptable and flexible to rapid changes to the business needs of the company.

Good knowledge of mechanical dimensioning & tolerancing analysis, poka-yoke principles will be an added advantage.
