Job summary

OCNED Water Technology Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Process & Project Engineer to join our engineering team in Shah Alam. You will design, engineer and coordinate equipment selection for STP/WWTP/WRP projects, and manage project execution from planning through commissioning.

The role requires a strong background in water/wastewater treatment, with 5+ years in construction or process engineering, and proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling and tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction or water/wastewater projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project with good command in project scheduling and tracking.
• Familiar with QA/QC procedures, including inspection, testing, and quality documentation.
• Experience in WTP/WWTP/STP/WRP processes including operations, maintenance or system design.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager/Director in leading fast-track projects' full life cycle from construction to commissioning.
• Carry out water and wastewater treatment system design and engineering for STP, WWTP, WTP, WRP and industrial wastewater projects.
• Perform system sizing, hydraulic calculations and equipment selection based on project requirements.
• Prepare and review engineering documents including PFDs, equipment specs and datasheets.
• Select and specify major mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, mixers, screens and tanks.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and process teams for integration.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, suppliers and subcontractors on technical matters.
• Review supplier quotations, technical proposals and equipment submissions.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Attend project/site meetings and resolve technical issues during project implementation.
• Monitor engineering deliverables, project progress and technical compliance.
• Establish construction schedules and progress reporting to clients.

Job description

A design-and-build specialist contractor in the water/wastewater industry, undertaking sewage treatment plant (STP), water and wastewater treatment (WWTP), water recycling treatment (WRP) and related infrastructure projects. Our work involves engineering, construction, mechanical and electrical installation, and process equipment integration.

We are looking for an experienced and technically competent Process & Project Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, engineering, equipment selection, technical coordination and project management of water and wastewater treatment projects, including STP, WWTP, WTP, WRP and related treatment systems.

This position is suitable for an engineer with a strong background in water/wastewater treatment, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or process engineering, who is looking to take greater responsibility for the technical delivery of engineering projects.

PROCESS & PROJECT ENGINEER

Job Responsibilities:

To assist the Project Manager/Director in leading fast-track projects' full life cycle from construction to the commissioning stage and on the progress of the project.

Carry out water and wastewater treatment system design and engineering for STP, WWTP, WTP, WRP and industrial wastewater treatment projects.

Perform system sizing, hydraulic calculations and equipment selection based on project requirements.

Prepare and review engineering documents including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Equipment specifications, Equipment datasheets, Technical specifications, Design calculations, Equipment schedules and Technical submissions.

Select and specify major mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, mixers, screens, sludge handling equipment, tanks and other treatment equipment.

Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and process engineering teams to ensure proper integration of the overall treatment system.

Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, suppliers and subcontractors on technical matters.

Review supplier quotations, technical proposals and equipment submissions.

Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning.

Attend project/site meetings and resolve technical issues during project implementation.

Monitor engineering deliverables, project progress and technical compliance.

Complete construction project planning processes.

Manage and lead an entire site team to ensure the scope and direction of each project are on schedule, on-time delivery, and on budget.

Establish construction schedules, formulate a working schedule and timeline of all the involved commissioning processes that suit the construction master work program.

To prepare project schedule and periodical progress report to submit to client.

Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering or related discipline

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction or water/wastewater projects

Proficient in Microsoft Project with good command in project scheduling and tracking

Familiar with QA/QC procedures, including inspection, testing, and quality documentation

Candidates with demonstrated experience in WTP/WWTP/STP/WRP processes, including operations, maintenance, or system design, will be given preference

Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills

Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

Able to start work immediately
