Arkema seeks a Process Safety Specialist in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia to support the implementation and maintenance of Process Safety Management (PSM) practices. The role involves maintaining PSI, conducting PHA and risk assessments, supporting MOC activities, and reviewing PFDs/P&IDs and control logic.
You will assist with FAT, SAT, PSSR, and incident investigations, while promoting safety awareness and compliance with regulations.

Support the Process Manager and team in implementing and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) practices and standards.
Assist in maintaining Process Safety Information (PSI), procedures, records, and safety documentation.
Participate in process hazard analysis (PHA), risk assessments, and identification of process safety risks.
Support Management of Change (MOC) activities for process and plant modifications.
Review process documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, control logic, and process descriptions.
Assist in process safety-related DCS and control system modification projects.
Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Monitor and review process alarms, interlocks, and safety protection systems.
Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up of corrective actions.
Prepare process safety reports, presentations, training materials, and maintain relevant records.
Promote process safety awareness and provide support to plant personnel on safety-related matters.
Assist with compliance reviews against company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process safety performance.
Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies, procedures, legal requirements, and company standards.
Report hazards, near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, and accidents, and contribute to a safe working environment.

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or related Science disciplines.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment; fresh graduates with strong interest in process safety are encouraged to apply.
Basic knowledge of chemical processes, PFDs, P&IDs, hazard identification, risk assessment, and DCS operations.
Strong safety mindset with attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
Good technical documentation, reporting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and work under pressure.
