Job summary

SMT Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled engineer to design and control PCBA processes, drive yield and quality improvements, and monitor production efficiency. The role covers setup of new lines, process changes, and process documentation. Experience with SMT, COB, BGA and related assembly methods is preferred.

The candidate will contribute to line balancing, product transfer knowledge, and technical troubleshooting on the production line to ensure smooth mass production runs.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in related field preferred.
• Familiar with PCBA processes including SMT, Manual Insertion, Wave Soldering, Auto Insertion and Box Build.

Responsibilities

• Design and control PCBA process.
• Drive for yield and quality improvement.
• Monitor production activities and propose material/process/labor improvements.
• Coordinate for new lines setup and process change.
• Improve machine utilization and reduce downtime.
• Balance lines for new and existing products.
• Develop work instructions, procedures and control plans.
• Lead prototype runs and drive improvements before mass production.

Responsibilities

Design & control PCBA process.

Drive for product's yield and quality improvement activities.

Monitor production activities, propose recommendations on material, process and/or labor reductions to promote efficiency of operation.

Coordinate for new lines set up and process change.

Responsible for machine utilization and downtime improvement effort.

Process improvement & line balancing for new and existing products.

Develop processes work instructions, procedures and process control plans for products.

Key person for product prototype run and drive for improvement before mass production build.

Maintain & troubleshoot any technical problem in production line.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Diploma /Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.

At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Familiar with PCBA process - SMT, Manual Insert, Wave Soldering, Auto Insert & Box Build process.

Familiar with COB, BGA, CSP, Flip Chip, PoP, 0603/01005 assembly, corresponding rework & underfill process will be an added advantage).

Line Set up, NPI Process and Product transfer knowledge will be an added advantage.
