Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is seeking a technically proficient engineer with a strong background in casting/molding and semiconductor processes. The role focuses on supporting NPIs, delivering process and equipment solutions, and ensuring cost savings through new sources or processes.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in semiconductor casting/molding, solid analytical skills, and hands-on experience with process development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of related experience in semiconductor industry, specifically casting/molding.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing casting/molding is essential.
• Process development or New Product Introduction experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in casting/molding and process development.
• Strong analytical skills and systematic problem-solving ability; Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MiniTab.

Responsibilities

• Support New Product Introductions by delivering Process and Equipment solutions to meet quality and timeline targets.
• Ensure second source and cost savings targets through new suppliers or new processes.
• Contribute to solving chronic issues with innovative or out-of-box solutions.
• Provide active technical inputs in team-based problem solving efforts.
• Maintain organizational knowledge through design guidelines, rules, supplier capability, and knowledge management.

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Support New Product Introductions by delivering assigned Process and Equipment solutions meeting or exceeding Quality and timeline targets.
• To ensure equipment second source and cost savings targets be met through new supplier or new process introduction.
• To contribute to effective resolution of chronic issues through innovative or out-of-box solutions.
• To provide active support and technical inputs in Team based problem solving efforts.(eg Focus Team).
• To ensure self development to continually upgrading overall performance by maintaining organizational knowledge through design guideline, design rules, supplier capability, knowledge management system & actively participating in internal and external knowledge sharing (Technical symposium, trade shows, etc).

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Mechatronic/ Electromechanical), Engineering (Material Science), Physics or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of related working experience in semiconductor industry i.e, in casting/molding process.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing casting/molding process is a must.
• Experience in Process development or New Product Introduction would be an advantage.
• Hands-on and process development experience in casting/molding.
• Strong analytical skill, systematic problem solving approach skill, statistical knowledge with knowledge of Six Sigma is preferred.
• An in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MiniTab is required.
