Job summary

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Penang, seeks a Process Development Senior Engineer (Casting/Molding) to develop mass-production casting/molding processes, generate documentation, train staff, and contribute to technology roadmap.

You will support pre-series, ramp-up, quality/yield improvements, and audits, with 2–5 years in semiconductor process engineering and hands-on casting/molding experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or relevant field.
• 2 - 5 years in semiconductor process engineering field.
• Preferably minimum of 2 years in casting/molding process development.
• Casting/molding process engineering knowledge & hands on skillset in semiconductors or LED manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge in process development step and statistic.

Responsibilities

• Develop casting/molding processes for mass production in alignment with project timelines and UPH targets.
• Generate/update WI, build sheets, OCAP, and FMEA for new products/derivatives.
• Train operation technicians, operators, and R&D staff in casting processes.
• Contribute to casting/molding technology roadmap and assess new materials/equipment/tools.
• Support pre-series ramp-up, post-production quality/yield improvement, and FAR topics.
• Troubleshoot issues and lead DMAC/8-D problem-solving for casting development
• Support system compliance and customer audits.

Process Development Senior Engineer (Casting/Molding)

Develop casting/molding processes for mass production in alignment with operation teams, project timelines, yield targets, and UPH requirements. Generate and maintain technical documentation including work instructions, build sheets, OCAP, and FMEA for new products and derivatives. Train operation technicians, operators, and R&D junior casting technicians and engineers. Contribute to casting/molding technology roadmap development, including assessment of new materials, equipment, and tooling. Support new product pre-series and ramp-up activities, post-production quality and yield improvement, and FAR topics. Troubleshoot technical issues and lead DMAC or 8-D problem-solving for casting-related development challenges. Support system compliance and customer audits.

Key responsibilities

Develop casting/molding process for mass production to handshake with operation team per project targeted timeline, yield & UPH

Generate/update documents (WI, buildsheet, OCAP, FMEA etc) required for new product/derivative

Train operation technicians and operators. Train R&D junior casting technicians & engineers

Contribute in casting/molding technology building block / roadmap, inclusive of assess new casting materials, new equipment, new toolings etc

Ensure self development to continually upgrade overall performance as well as maintain organizational knowledge through supplier capability, material purchase spec management system & actively participate in internal and external knowledge sharing

Support new product pre-series and ramp-up. Support post Q5 product quality, yield improvement and FAR topics

Troubleshoot and lead DMAC or 8-D for technical issues contributed by casting during development

Support system (e.g. TS16949) and customer audit

About you

Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or relevant field

2 - 5 years in semiconductor process engineering field

Preferably minimum of 2 years in casting/molding process development

Casting/molding process engineering knowledge & hands on skillset in semiconductors or LED manufacturing processes

Knowledge in process development step and statistic
