Mep Enviro Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking a Laboratory Technician/ Assistant Chemist to support the Chemist team by collecting and preparing samples for refinery processes and maintaining wastewater treatment operations.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, with 1–3 years in a lab setting. Proficiency in Excel and strong attention to detail are important. 6 days per week work schedule applies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting (fresh graduates encouraged).
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify incoming samples and register in the lab management system.
• Perform sample preparation procedures (wet digestion, filtration, etc.).
• Ensure proper storage, handling and disposal of samples and reagents.
• Monitor wastewater treatment plant performance and record results.
• Support compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with chemists, operations and environmental teams.
