Job summary

Ethos BeathChapman in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a seasoned investment professional to join a leading private equity buyside. This permanent role focuses on end-to-end investment opportunities, portfolio support, and fundraising, with base in Kuala Lumpur.

The ideal candidate has 2–6 years in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or M&A, plus a Bachelor’s degree, strong commercial acumen, and excellent stakeholder communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or M&A.
• Strong commercial acumen and passion for investing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage stakeholders.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end investment opportunities, including financial analysis, modelling, deal negotiations, structuring and pricing, due diligence, and closings.
• Support sourcing and evaluating opportunities; prepare investment memoranda and screening materials for IC.
• Track portfolio performance and support ongoing management.
• Assist fundraising by preparing presentations and updating investors; maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Develop relationships with founders, family businesses, corporates, banks and advisers to generate deal flow.
• Conduct industry and market research to formulate strategies and assess sector attractiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Lead execution of end-to-end investment opportunities, i.e financial analysis, modelling, deal negotiations, deal structuring and pricing, due diligence processes, and legal closings for investments
• Support in sourcing, evaluating investment opportunities, prepare investment memoranda and screening materials for IC
• Track portfolio performance, supporting the ongoing management of portfolio companies
• Support fundraising by preparing presentations, updating investors on portfolio progress, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
• Develop relationships with founders, family businesses, corporates, banks and advisors to generate strong deal flow
• Conduct industry and market research to formulate investment strategies, assess sector attractiveness and competitive dynamics

Profile of Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• At least 2-6 years of relevant experience with a proven track record Private Equity, Investment Banking, M&A
• Passionate in investing and the financial markets, good commercial acumen
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
