Job summary

Tenang Capital Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Manager, Investment & Corporate Development to drive deal sourcing, evaluation and portfolio value creation. You will lead market assessments, financial analyses and investment proposals for senior management.

The role requires a strong background in finance with at least 5 years in investment management or corporate development, and excellent stakeholder engagement with regulators, banks and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field with strong academic record.
• Solid analytical, financial modelling and business evaluation capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA/ACCA/CPA/ICAEW/CIMA are advantageous.
• MBA or master’s in Finance/Business is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities, strategic partnerships and ventures.
• Conduct market assessments, due diligence and financial analysis.
• Develop investment cases and proposals for management and Board consideration.
• Lead establishment of new entities, subsidiaries and startup ventures.
• Structure and negotiate joint ventures, strategic alliances and partnerships.
• Assess M&A, divestment and corporate restructuring opportunities.
• Coordinate financial, legal, commercial and operational due diligence.
• Prepare investment memoranda, valuation models, business plans and projections.
• Manage transactions from sourcing to execution and post-investment monitoring.
• Monitor the performance of the investment portfolio and ventures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including government agencies, investors, regulators and partners.

Manager, Investment & Corporate Development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities, strategic partnerships and business ventures.
• Conduct market assessments, industry research, due diligence and financial analysis.
• Develop investment cases and proposals for management and Board consideration.
• Lead and support the establishment of new entities, subsidiaries and startup ventures.
• Structure and negotiate joint ventures, strategic alliances and partnerships.
• Assess M&A, divestment and corporate restructuring opportunities.
• Coordinate financial, legal, commercial and operational due diligence.
• Prepare investment memorandums, valuation models, business plans and financial projections.
• Manage transactions from sourcing to execution and post-investment monitoring.
• Monitor the performance of TCB’s investment portfolio and strategic ventures.
• Identify value creation opportunities within portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, investors, regulators, financial institutions and strategic partners.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Investment, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in investment management, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, strategic planning or business advisory.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling and business evaluation skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance/Business is highly desirable.
