Job summary

DHL IT Services is seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, React, and modern cloud-native technologies. You will lead backend services, APIs, and web applications while ensuring scalability, security, and performance across global teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive engineering standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver technology modernization initiatives and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering and solution delivery experience.
• Strong full-stack development across backend and frontend technologies.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience developing responsive web applications with ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern web technologies.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using Java, with exposure to Node.js and Golang being a plus.
• Strong knowledge of JasperReports for report design, development, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle Database, including SQL development, database design, indexing, migration activities, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, deploy, and support enterprise applications to meet business and operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and web applications focusing on reliability and performance.
• Design and implement microservices using Java and modern frameworks, and build responsive front-end apps with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Create and optimize relational database solutions with PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Implement REST, SOAP, and gRPC interfaces and enterprise integration solutions.
• Adopt cloud-native DevOps practices: containerization, CI/CD, observability, and automated deployments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, project managers, product owners, and distributed teams to deliver new capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and establishment of engineering standards across teams.
