Job summary

Hunters International Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with at least 4 years in infrastructure and building projects to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves tender analysis, cost estimation, claims handling, and managing site quantities.

The ideal candidate will have a recognized QS degree, strong planning skills, and proficiency in MS Excel. You will lead junior staff and contribute to timely submissions and accurate variations for projects.

Qualifications

• Post graduate diploma / bachelor / professional degree in quantity surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of infrastructure and building projects experience as a QS.
• Experience supervising junior staff.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong planning skills.
• Willing to learn and take on challenges.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tenders, prepare tender submissions and bills of quantities.
• Estimate costs, handle project claims and payments.
• Measure quantities and perform take-offs.
• Oversee and manage project staff.
• Process progress claims and variations to ensure on-time submissions.
• Measure site work and analyze subcontractor prices.
• Carry out ad-hoc assignments as required.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Experience with analysis of tender, preparation of tender submission & BQ, cost estimation, handle claims and payment for the project
• Measurement of quantity, experience in taking off
• Experience in managing people
• Processing of progress claim and variations to ensure on time submissions
• Measure actual work at site and analyze subcontractor prices
• To perform any other Ad-hoc assignments as and when required by the management.

Key Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, Quantity Surveyor or equivalent
• At least 4 year(s) of infrastructure and building related projects working experience as a QS is required for this position and handling or managing staff under in terms of junior quantity surveyor
• Preferably candidates specializing in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Should be conversant with MS Office, particularly easy in working with Excel spread sheets in added advantage
• Undertake and carry out works with responsibilities and eye for details
• Good planning skill and willing to learn and take up challenges
