Job description

The Principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students and teachers are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the School. The Principal works collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of the School staff in achieving academic excellence and to communicate effectively with parents. The Principal is responsible for overseeing the direction of the School and encouraging enrollment of students, scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, and emergency procedures.

Key responsibilities

Support the School and its leadership, overseeing all matters relating to accreditation and compliance with the Ministry of Education

Oversee administration functions of the School, teachers, and students, ensuring all students comply with health and safety procedures

Take overall responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

Oversee the creation and maintenance of all academic policies and update accompanying Student Handbook and Teachers' Handbook

Supervise instructional programs, evaluating lesson plans and observing classes regularly to encourage use of varied instructional strategies

Establish procedures for evaluation and selection of instructional materials and equipment

Establish the annual School calendar for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences consistent with the School's philosophy and mission

Oversee coordination of preparing a school-wide budget and closely monitor ongoing expenditures

Create and implement school policies in consultation with and approval from the Board of Governors

About you

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with demonstrable, successful experience as a school leader, preferably in a medium to large international school at the Principal/Headteacher level

Broad experience in delivering an international education based on the Cambridge curriculum

Strong academic credentials including knowledge of curriculum, instructional practice, student learning styles, innovative educational practices, and student assessment

Strong collaborative management style and ability to develop and participate effectively in teams

Strong academic leadership skills and deep commitment to improving the quality and standard of education

Ability to create and communicate a clear and compelling view for the future of the School

Excellent communication skills - both verbally and written

Personal resilience and the ability to engender the best in others

A global perspective and internationally minded approach
