Job summary

timesconsult is seeking an experienced Specialist Planning & Scheduling to support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and performance analysis. The role involves developing and maintaining project schedules, baselines, and dashboards to keep stakeholders informed.

You will monitor critical path activities, analyse trends, review contractor schedules, and develop mitigation strategies, with Primavera P6 proficiency and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Construction, Project Management or related discipline.
• Significant experience in planning and scheduling or a similar project controls role.
• Good working knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to work with multiple data sources.
• Good written and verbal in English communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain summary and detailed project schedules.
• Establish baseline schedules and monitor actual progress against the approved baseline.
• Monitor and analyse critical path activities, project trends, and potential delays.
• Develop progress curves and provide monthly progress analysis.
• Review contractor schedules and provide recommendations to improve project delivery.
• Integrate schedules from contractors and different project functions into the overall project schedule.
• Support planning and sequencing for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
• Identify critical activities and communicate potential project impacts to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct schedule risk and range analysis, including supporting planning/risk workshops and reports.
• Develop mitigation and recovery strategies to minimise schedule delays and project impacts.
• Support preparation of project dashboards, progress reports and management updates.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment on project schedules.
• Adapt planning and scheduling strategies based on changing project requirements and conditions.
