Job summary

ADC POWER CONCEPT Sdn Bhd, a power quality specialist in Malaysia, is seeking a Presales Solutions Engineer / Consulting Engineer. You will craft bidding specs, design technical solutions, prepare commercial quotations and proposals for data centers.

The role covers presales, tendering, and selecting optimal power and cooling options. You will collaborate with CAD operators, apply data-center design standards, and audit sites to ensure implementation meets design intent, driving efficient,

Qualifications

• Experience in data center infrastructure M&E design, solutions, tender processes and implementation.
• Familiar with Data Centre Architecture, Engineering and Solutions and Uptime Institute Tier standards.
• Able to work independently and in a team with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Formulate bidding specs and design the technical solution, quotations and proposals for data centers.
• Involved in presales and tender preparation activities.
• Understand power, cooling and control systems for data centers and select best-fit options.
• Coordinate with CAD to draft facility designs of data centers.
• Assess and select data center solutions: power and cooling.
• Conduct project site audits to ensure design compliance.
• Engage with stakeholders to present solutions and support deployments.

Presales Solutions Engineer / Consulting Engineer

1. Responsible to formulate biding specifications, and design the technical solution, commercial quotation, and proposal preparation for the data center.

2. Involved in the presales, and tendering preparation.

3. Understanding of the key technology areas in each power and cooling of critical infrastructure requirements and design options.

4. Aware how to use relevant standards to enable a flexible approach to DC design.

5. Understand the data center critical facility design requirement which is including but not limited to the below list:

Power basics which is including sizing critical load, size of the required cooling equipment, size of the required power equipment’s, C.B., cables…etc.

Understand the basics of power distribution in the data center.

Know the fundamental differences between each cooling system and when we have to use each system.

Should be able to select the best system to capture the Total IT heat load, Space planning, PUE & TCO.

To be able to work in parallel with the CAD operator to generate a design of the critical facility of the data centre.

6. To be able to properly select and use each solution among the data center solution categories as below:

Power solutions.

Cooling solutions.

7. Project site audit to ensure implementation according to design

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have at least 3 years of working experience and technical accumulation in the data center infrastructure M&E design, solution, tender process, and system implementation, especially with related UPS, Electrical Systems, and HVAC Systems.
• Be familiar with Data Centre Architecture, Engineering and Solutions. Be familiar with the standards and requirement for Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
• Able to work independently and as a team with the team members.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to handle and cope with the work issues in a professional manner.
