The Precast Factory Manager directs all day-to-day operations of the precast manufacturing facility, overseeing production scheduling, mould optimization, concrete mix control, and curing cycle supervision. This role manages manpower allocation across production lines, material inventory, logistics coordination, quality control collaboration, and plant maintenance programs. The manager enforces comprehensive industrial safety standards, investigates non-conformances, tracks operational expenditures, evaluates process automation opportunities, ensures regulatory compliance, and generates weekly operational reports for executives.
Key responsibilities
- Direct all day-to-day operations of the precast manufacturing facility and operational arrangement
- Develop and execute master production timelines and other operational related activities
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, cleaning, and rapid turnaround of precision steel and timber moulds
- Supervise the batching plant to ensure correct water-cement ratios, aggregate grading, and chemical admixture dosing
- Manage steam, water, or chemical curing processes to safely accelerate concrete strength development
- Deploy and manage production lines, matching skilled concrete finishers, carpenters, and steel fixers to specific casting beds
- Monitor and maintain optimum stock levels of bulk cement, aggregates, sand, mesh, and specialized lifting inserts
- Direct the safe extraction, handling, stacking, and yard loading of cured components onto transport trailers
- Monitor the internal QA/QC team to enforce regular slump tests, cube testing, and visual finish inspections
- Ensure all rebar cages are bent, tied, spaced, and placed exactly to structural engineering specifications
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Science, or an equivalent technical field
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in concrete manufacturing, with 5+ years explicitly running a precast factory
- Proven expertise managing a factory that produces a wide mix of items
- Practical knowledge of automated batching plant operations, aggregate selectors, and concrete mix design adjustment
- Thorough knowledge of heavy industrial lifting protocols and multi-point lifting calculations
- Direct experience operating a manufacturing plant under ISO 9001:2015 quality management principles
- Active holder of a valid CIDB Green Card or professional registration relevant to Malaysian manufacturing guidelines
- Professional verbal and written proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English
- Proven experience managing a culturally diverse factory workforce of at least 50 to 100+ personnel
- Proficiency using structured problem-solving models (like 5-Whys or Fishbone diagrams) to fix concrete curing defects
