Job summary

Rentaload Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a pre-sales engineer to design and specify load bank rental and commissioning solutions for data centers and critical environments. You will assess client power infrastructure, size solutions, and develop technically sound proposals to support commercial quotations.

Responsibilities include site visits, presentations to clients, RFQ reviews, and coordinating with project teams to ensure feasible delivery timelines and clear technical scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or equivalent technical discipline.
• 3+ years in pre-sales engineering, technical sales support or solution design.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (power, cooling, UPS, generators).

Responsibilities

• Design and specify technical solutions for load bank rental and commissioning projects.
• Prepare detailed technical proposals, specifications and solution documentation.
• Conduct site visits and technical assessments to define load bank configurations.
• Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to clients.
• Review RFQs and identify scope, risks and equipment configuration.
• Collaborate with BD Manager, Technical Manager and Project Engineers on solution validation.
• Respond to technical queries during bids, including load calculations and power quality considerations.
• Support contract negotiations by clarifying technical scope and equipment specs.
• Support post-sales handover to the technical delivery team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of load bank tech and industry standards.

Job description

Act as the primary technical resource supporting the Sales team throughout the sales cycle, from opportunity qualification to close. Design and specify technical solutions for load bank rental and commissioning projects, ensuring feasibility and operational deliverability. Conduct site visits and technical assessments to understand client power infrastructure and define appropriate load bank configurations.

Key responsibilities

Design and specify technical solutions for load bank rental and commissioning projects, ensuring feasibility and operational deliverability

Prepare detailed technical proposals, specifications and solution documentation to support commercial quotations and rental agreements

Conduct site visits and technical assessments to understand client power infrastructure and define appropriate load bank configurations

Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to clients, including data center operators, general contractors, MEP contractors, EPC companies and commissioning managers

Review client RFQs and technical requirements, identifying scope, risks and the most suitable equipment configuration

Work closely with the Business Development Manager, the Technical Manager and Project Engineers to validate solution design, equipment availability and delivery timelines

Respond to technical queries from clients and the sales team during the bid process, including load calculations and power quality considerations

Support contract negotiations by clarifying technical scope, service levels and equipment specifications

Support post-sales handover to the technical delivery team, ensuring solution intent and client requirements are accurately transferred

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of load bank technology, competitor offerings and industry standards

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline

Minimum 3 years' experience in pre-sales engineering, technical sales support or solution design

Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (power, cooling, UPS, generators)

Hands-on experience with load bank testing, commissioning or rental services is a strong advantage

Demonstrated ability to translate technical requirements into client-ready proposals in a B2B technical environment

Strong understanding of electrical systems: three-phase power, UPS, generators, power distribution

In-depth knowledge of data center commissioning processes and MEP systems

Ability to read, interpret and mark up single-line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical schematics

Strong familiarity with load bank types (resistive, reactive) and their applications

Solid grasp of power quality concepts: kW, kVAR, power factor, voltage, frequency, and ability to perform load calculations to size solutions to client requirements
