Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Malaysia is seeking a Power Systems Study Engineer (PSS) to ensure the technical viability of utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will conduct comprehensive simulations, perform stability analysis, manage harmonic quality, and utilize industry-standard tools. Candidates must have a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on Power Systems and proven experience in grid impact studies for large-scale solar projects in Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in performing Grid Impact Studies for Large Scale Solar (LSS) or CRESS projects in Malaysia.
  • Advanced proficiency in PSS/E or DIgSILENT is mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of Malaysian Grid Code and GSO requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive simulations including Load Flow, Short Circuit and Contingency Analysis.
  • Perform Transient Stability analysis to ensure the plant remains stable during grid disturbances.
  • Model and mitigate harmonic injections to meet TNB's stringent power quality standards.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools like PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or ETAP.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports for interconnection applications.

Overview

We are seeking a Power Systems Study Engineer (PSS). You are responsible for ensuring client's utility-scale solar and BESS projects are technically viable and compliant with Malaysia's national grid requirements. You will be the primary technical point of contact for TNB / GSO during the interconnection process

Responsibilities
  • Grid Impact Studies (GIS): Conduct comprehensive simulations including Load Flow, Short Circuit and Contingency Analysis.
  • Stability Analysis: Perform Transient Stability analysis to ensure the plant remains stable during grid disturbances
  • Harmonic & Power Quality: Model and mitigate harmonic injections to meet TNB's stringent power quality standards
  • Software Mastery: Utilize industry-standard tools like PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or ETAP
  • Compliance: Prepare and submit technical reports for interconnection applications
