Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a skilled PLC Engineer to program, test, and optimize automated cable manufacturing systems. You will ensure high precision and minimal downtime across PLC and HMI platforms from major vendors such as Siemens, Omron, Schneider, and Mitsubishi.

You will lead integration of automation software with mechanical hardware, diagnose complex failures, and identify aging control systems for modernization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years hands-on PLC programming experience.
• Experience in Wire & Cable or heavy manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Code, and test PLC programs and HMI interfaces for cable manufacturing.
• Lead integration of automation software with hardware to improve OEE.
• Provide diagnostic support for electrical and automation failures.
• Identify aging control systems and spearhead retrofitting projects.
• Maintain electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and software backups.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Production to drive process improvements.

As a PLC Engineer, you will be the primary technical expert responsible for the programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of our automated manufacturing systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring our specialized cable production machinery operates with maximum precision and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Code, and test PLC programs (Siemens, Omron, Schneider, or Mitsubishi) and HMI interfaces tailored for cable manufacturing processes.

Lead the integration of automation software with mechanical hardware to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Provide expert-level diagnostic support for complex electrical and automation failures to ensure rapid recovery of production.

Identify aging control systems and spearhead retrofitting projects to modernize existing machinery.

Maintain accurate electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and software backup libraries.

Work closely with the Maintenance and Production departments to implement process improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming.

Experience within the Wire & Cable industry or heavy manufacturing is a significant advantage.
