Job summary

Wan Ly Protective Packaging Sdn. Bhd. in Ipoh, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Production Planner to create and manage master production schedules for injection molding and related plastics processes.

You will coordinate with procurement and tooling teams, issue shop-floor orders, optimize changeovers, track performance, and drive on-time delivery while controlling material usage.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-5 years of production planning or scheduling experience specifically within plastics processing (Injection Molding, Extrusion, Blow Molding, or Thermoforming).
• Technical Knowledge: Plastic manufacturing operations, resin handling/drying requirements, mold setup times, press cavitation.
• Systems: Proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage and optimize daily, weekly and monthly master production schedules based on orders and forecasts.
• Issue detailed shop-floor work orders with machine allocations, resin grades, tooling requirements and target cycle times.
• Calculate raw material requirements using MRP/ERP systems; coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability.
• Schedule molds, dies and auxiliary equipment with tooling and maintenance teams.
• Sequence job orders to minimize changeovers, color purge downtime and drying lag times.
• Track daily output against targets and analyze root causes of scrap, downtime or delays.
• Re-sequence production as needed to handle breakdowns or rush orders.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to meet yield targets and quality specs.
• Align with Logistics to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet shipping deadlines.
• Generate core performance reports (Schedule Attainment, Lead Time Variance, OEE, Scrap Rate).
