Job summary

Exceptional Mould Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a skilled Mould Designer to design plastic injection moulds based on customer drawings and product requirements.

You will prepare complete 2D and 3D mould designs, create core, cavity, inserts, sliders and related components, and produce detailed fabrication drawings.

Collaborate with CNC/EDM teams, support mould trials, and ensure designs meet specifications, with BOM and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Plastic Injection Mould Design/Tooling.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of core, cavity, sliders, lifters, cooling and ejection systems.

Job description

Design plastic injection moulds based on customer drawings, samples and product requirements.

Prepare complete 2D and 3D mould designs for manufacturing.

Design mould components including core, cavity, inserts, sliders, lifters and other related components.

Prepare detailed drawings for mould fabrication and machining.

Review product drawings and identify potential tooling or moulding issues before fabrication.

Work closely with CNC, EDM, Wire Cut, mould assembly and production teams.

Support mould trials, troubleshooting, modification and design improvement.

Ensure mould designs meet customer requirements and manufacturing specifications.

Prepare BOM and relevant technical documentation.

Requirements

Experience in Plastic Injection Mould Design / Tooling is preferred.

Proficient in UG/NX (Siemens NX) for 3D mould design.

Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings.

Good knowledge of injection mould structure and mould manufacturing processes.

Able to read and understand engineering and technical drawings.

Familiar with core, cavity, slider, lifter, cooling and ejection systems.

Able to work independently and coordinate with the mould-making and production teams.

Responsible, detail-oriented and good at technical problem-solving.
