Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a planning professional in Penang to develop and manage master implementation programmes using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. You will update integrated sub-programmes covering engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning, establish schedules and critical paths, and prepare progress reports and look-ahead schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for master and baseline schedules.
• Develop, update and maintain integrated sub-programmes (engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning).
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, S-curves, KPIs, tracking reports and progress updates.

Responsibilities

• Develop master implementation programmes aligned with project requirements.
• Establish schedules, activity sequences, logic relationships, interfaces, milestones and critical paths.
• Prepare Time–Location Charts in Excel with advanced formulas and conditional formatting.
• Support resource planning including allocation, leveling and productivity assessment.
• Input, analyse and update manpower, resource and cost data in Primavera P6 to monitor performance.
• Coordinate progress data including dates, % complete, remaining durations and forecast dates.
• Identify schedule variances and bottlenecks; recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct site inspections and present programme updates to advise on risks and delays.
• Develop mitigation, acceleration and recovery programmes based on progress and resources.
• Ensure deliverables and progress reports are prepared and submitted on time.

Job description

Develop Master Implementation Programmes and Detailed Baseline Programmes in line with project and contractual requirements using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Develop, update, and maintain integrated sub-programmes covering engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Establish project schedules, activity sequences, logic relationships, interfaces, key milestones, and critical paths.

Prepare Time–Location Charts using Microsoft Excel, with strong proficiency in formulas and conditional formatting. Experience with TILOS is an added advantage.

Support project resource planning and optimisation, including resource allocation, levelling, and productivity assessment.

Input, analyse, and update manpower, resource, and cost data in Primavera P6 to monitor project performance and forecast completion dates.

Prepare look-ahead schedules, progress S-curves, resource histograms, KPIs, tracking charts, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Coordinate and verify project progress data, including actual dates, percentage completion, remaining durations, and forecast dates, in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.

Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and scheduling conflicts, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Conduct site inspections, present programme updates, and advise project teams on critical activities, potential risks, and schedule delays.

Develop mitigation, acceleration, and recovery programmes based on actual progress, available resources, and revised work sequences.

Ensure programme deliverables and progress-monitoring reports are prepared and submitted on time according to Client requirements.

Perform other planning and project-control duties as assigned by the Planning Manager or immediate supervisor.
