Job summary

UMECH CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking a Project Controls professional to manage weekly and monthly progress, baseline scheduling, and resource tracking for civil infrastructure projects. The role requires proactive monitoring, strong coordination with subcontractors, and independent execution.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree with 3–5 years of heavy civil experience and proficiency in Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of direct experience in heavy civil, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6
• Ability to prepare and maintain project schedules and baselines
• Experience with progress monitoring and updating schedules
• Understanding of critical path, float, WBS, milestones, and activity relationships
• Ability to prepare weekly/monthly progress reports
• Must have initiative and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Control and report the weekly and monthly progress.
• Prepare the baseline program including financial & physical s-curve, manpower & machinery histogram, revised work program as required.
• Ensure that project controls documents such as resources histogram, schedule, reporting systems, material interfaces are properly addressed.
• Monitor schedules and critical activities and provide early warning to project engineers/team.
• Liaise with subcontractor to meet the contractors work programme.
