Role Description

We are offering a PhD scholarship in the field of electrocatalyst materials for urea electrolysis at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak.

About the project

The successful candidate will develop and study advanced electrocatalyst materials for the urea oxidation reaction (UOR). This research aims to:

Design efficient and robust electrocatalysts

Enable sustainable hydrogen production from urea-containing wastewater

Contribute to next-generation clean energy and water treatment technologies

Who we are looking for

A motivated candidate with a Bachelor or Master degree in chemical engineering, materials science, electrochemistry, or related fields, who is eager to push the frontiers of electrocatalysis and work in an international and interdisciplinary team. Additionally, the following qualifications will be a plus:

  • Strong research skills including data compilation and analysis
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including academic writing
  • Ability to contribute to academic activities within the group and collaborative research projects
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a research team
