Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking a Personal Banker to be a key contact for individual customers, delivering financial advice and solutions to help them achieve their financial goals while building lasting relationships.

You will build a portfolio, cross-sell banking products, process transactions, and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and growth. Minimum 2–3 years in customer-facing banking preferred; strong communication and integrity required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a customer-facing role within banking/financial services.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
• Strong understanding of retail banking products and services.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Ability to analyze financial information and provide sound financial advice.
• Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of individual customers, understanding their financial needs and objectives.
• Proactively identify and recommend suitable UOB products and services to meet customer requirements.
• Conduct financial needs analysis and provide sound financial advice while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, including account opening, deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Cross-sell and up-sell banking products and services to deepen customer relationships and increase revenue.
• Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and UOB product developments to provide relevant advice.
• Adhere to internal control procedures and regulatory requirements including AML and KYC guidelines.
• Collaborate with other UOB departments to ensure seamless customer service and product delivery.
• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to team goals.
