Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking a Deputy Head of Malaysia Branch to establish and lead the Malaysia operation in Penang, coordinating branch management, business development, local teams, and cross-border logistics with the China headquarters.

The role focuses on building relationships with electronics manufacturers in Penang and nearby hubs, implementing local processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering reliable, cost-efficient logistics services across Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
• At least 5 years in logistics with 2+ years in team management.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian logistics market, regulations, and local business environment.
• Experience in establishing overseas branches and cross-border logistics preferred.
• Fluent in Chinese and English; Malay preferred for local stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment, development, and day-to-day management of the Malaysia branch.
• Develop localized management systems, operational processes, reporting mechanisms, and business procedures for the Malaysia operation.
• Build and manage local teams across operations, sales, and customer service functions.
• Develop and manage relationships with local logistics providers, warehousing partners, transportation suppliers, and other service providers.
• Coordinate local tax, labor, customs, transportation, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Develop new B2B clients within the electronics manufacturing sector in Penang and surrounding industrial areas.
