Job summary

Advanced Energy in Malaysia (Penang) is seeking an Engineer I - Pre-Production Service (PCBA) to prepare, maintain, and release complete manufacturing documentation for PCBAs, supporting New Product Introduction and sustaining products.

This role serves as a key interface between Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Contract Manufacturers to ensure accurate product documentation, BOMs, and engineering changes.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient at interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and Gerber data.
• Familiar with ANSI and IPC standards.
• Experience drafting, illustrating, and publishing technical documentation.
• Exposure to PLM and SAP environments is preferred.
• Understanding of SMT processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Specification Control Drawings (SCD) for PCBAs.
• Prepare, review, and release PCBA manufacturing packages for stakeholders.
• Maintain and validate PCBA BOMs to align with engineering needs.
• Upload and release BOMs in PLM and ERP systems.
• Verify data consistency between drawings, BOMs, PLM, and ERP records.
• Support ECRs and ECOs by updating documentation and records.
• Maintain revision history and configuration traceability.
• Create PCBA test specs, rework instructions, and conversion docs.
• Familiarity with SMT assembly processes is an advantage.
• Support NPI activities and ensure timely documentation releases.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes and system utilization.
• Adhere to quality, health and safety, and code of conduct policies.
