Job summary

Cyan Renewables Group based in Malaysia is seeking a Payroll Officer to oversee end-to-end payroll administration across multiple regions, including Australia, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia. You will ensure accurate processing of contracts, allowances, overtime and accruals, and liaise with employees to resolve payroll queries.

The role requires 3-5 years in end-to-end payroll with multiple workplace agreements and 2-3 years with automated payroll systems, preferably with Definitiv.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience doing end-to-end payrolls with multiple awards and/or Workplace Agreements.
• 2-3 years' experience with an automated Payroll System.
• Definitiv payroll system knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Australian legislative requirements and various payroll related taxes (FBT, Payroll tax, Super).
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly and monthly payrolls across Australia, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia and other regions as required.
• Review and understand employee contracts and Workplace Agreements.
• Ensure allowances, overtime, and accruals are accurately processed according to agreements and contracts.
• Process payroll to be checked, approved and submitted to the bank before the cut-off time.
• Assist with the administration of the Payroll System.
• Input and quality check payroll data (new hires, terminations, salary changes, deductions, banking and superannuation).
• Assist with timesheet transfers and imports into the Accounting system, ensuring approvals.
• Identify efficiencies with payroll processes and contribute to ad-hoc reporting.
• Assist with other payroll related payments such as PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our HR division. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the role will provide accurate and effective administration of payrolls including month and end of year consolidation, maintain accurate payroll records, assist with other payroll related payments and reconciliations and liaise with employees to resolve queries.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Malaysia with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly and monthly payrolls across Australia, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia and other regions as required.
• Review and understand employee contracts and relevant Workplace Agreements.
• Ensure allowances, overtime, and accruals are accurately processed in accordance with applicable agreements and employee contracts.
• Ensure that the Payroll is processed, checked, approved and submitted to the bank before the bank’s cut-off time on the specified pay day.
• Assist with the administration of the Payroll System.
• Input and quality check Payroll data such as setting up new employees, terminations, salary and position changes, employee deductions, banking and superannuation details.
• Assist with the timesheets transfer and timesheet imports into the Accounting system, checking that all timesheets have been approved.
• Identify and Implement efficiencies with the payroll processes wherever possible.
• Assist with other payroll related payments such as PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
• Liaise with employees, Management and other departments (as applicable) to resolve all queries.
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting as required.
• 3-5 years’ experience doing end to end payrolls with multiple awards and/or Workplace Agreements
