Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking personnel to support hospital dietary services across our facilities in the region. The role involves food preparation, plating and portioning, and maintaining hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

No prior experience is required as on-the-job training is provided, though experience in the food industry is a plus. The position offers exposure to hospital dining operations and team-based collaboration.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training shall be provided; no experience required.
• Experience in food related industry shall be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with any food industry is helpful.
• Experience in Hospital Dietary Services will be an extra advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity.
• Ensure that food items are appropriately arranged on plates and platters.
• Prepare and assemble portions in accordance with the menu.
• Store food in an appropriate manner.
• Ensure temperatures are within specified range as according to statutory requirements and recommended guidance.
• Deliver food to the appropriate room or person; collect and discard the meal tray within the stipulated time.
• Managing food inventory and supplies are according to par level.
• Wash dishes and flatware; operate and maintain dishwashers.
• Assist with food preparation services for catering projects.
• Report kitchen malfunctions to superior immediately.

Education

SPM or equivalent
