Job summary

Jobstreet Malaysia is seeking a Machine Operator / Production Assistant to support the production team in achieving objectives. The role involves operating machinery, maintaining product quality, and following safety and environmental requirements to ensure an efficient and safe workplace.

You will set up production lines, monitor targets, perform basic tooling troubleshooting, and collaborate with QC to rectify defects while complying with 5S practices and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production machinery and adhering to SOPs.
• Ability to perform basic tooling and die-set troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and coordinate with QC for defect rectification.
• Maintain strict safety practices and housekeeping (5S) at the workstation.

Responsibilities

• Set up production line according to schedule and work instructions.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Troubleshoot tooling and die-set issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform in-process quality checks and report defects to QC.
• Operate machines in auto mode after quality confirmation.
• Comply with SOPs, work instructions and quality requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities or unsafe conditions.
• Follow safety, health, and environmental procedures and wear PPE.
• Maintain clean, organized, hazard-free work area using 5S practices.
• Support continuous improvement and assist corrective actions.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

The Machine Operator / Production Assistant supports the Head of Department in achieving production objectives and operational targets. This role is responsible for operating machinery, supporting daily production activities, performing basic troubleshooting, ensuring product quality, and adhering to all safety, health, and environmental requirements to maintain an efficient and safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up the production line according to the production schedule and approved work instructions.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
• Perform basic tooling and die-set troubleshooting and rectification to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine and random in-process quality checks on products throughout the production line. (Improved for clarity)
• Provide timely feedback and coordinate with QC personnel on detected defects for rectification and confirmation.
• Operate machines in full auto mode after quality confirmation has been verified.
• Ensure strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and immediately report any abnormalities, defects, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Comply with all workplace safety, health, and environmental procedures, including Chemical Exposure Monitoring (if applicable).
• Wear, use, and maintain proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during work.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hazard-free conditions at the workstation through good housekeeping (5S) practices.
• Support continuous improvement activities and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
