Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a packaging engineer to lead the development of packaging solutions for new products and to manage packaging design for finished goods, components, and packaging materials. The role includes creating specs, BOMs, SOPs, 2D/3D drawings, and inspection standards.

The candidate should have an associate degree or higher in packaging or related engineering fields, proficiency with CAD, and familiarity with ISTA tests, anti-static, moisture-proof, and export packaging

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Packaging/Engineering; preference for Packaging/Mechanical/Industrial majors with 2+ years in electronics packaging.
• Able to use CAD to draw packaging drawings; 3D software like SolidWorks/UG is advantageous.
• Familiar with ISTA packaging tests and root cause analysis.
• Understand anti-static, moisture-proof and export sea freight packaging requirements.
• Strong cost awareness and ability to lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging solutions for new products and complete packaging design for finished, semi-finished products and components, including cartons, blister packs, EPE foam, turnover containers, pallets.
• Formulate packaging specs, BOMs, SOPs, labeling specs; output 2D/3D drawings and inspection standards.
• Plan reliability tests (drop, vibration, temp/humidity, stacking) and lead non-conformity improvements.
• Address shipping packaging damages and customer packaging complaints; analyze root causes and implement countermeasures.
• Evaluate costs, optimize packaging structures, reduce volume, improve loading rate, and implement cost reduction plans.
• Liaise with suppliers for sample evaluation, technical communication, and new material introduction; track lead times and quality.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and overseas shipping requirements and RoHS/regulations.
• Collaborate with R&D, IE, Quality, Warehouse and Procurement to optimize packaging turnover.
