Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Packaging Design Engineer to lead process engineering and continuous improvement activities by optimizing manufacturing processes, improving operational efficiency, and supporting production performance to meet business objectives.

This role involves identifying improvement opportunities, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and Operations to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Packaging Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in engineering design, packaging design, or process engineering within manufacturing.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop standard and customized packaging solutions based on customer and operational requirements.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Lead and participate in design reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Provide technical recommendations to improve design performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct engineering analysis, validation, and testing to ensure packaging solutions meet quality and performance standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including design specifications, engineering reports, test results, and change records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in packaging design and development processes.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
• Support new product development and packaging innovation initiatives.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers to support their growth and development.
