Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Outsourced Bookkeeper to support multiple clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance. You will work with our accounting team and client managers to ensure timely, accurate records.

The role requires at least 3 years in bookkeeping, familiarity with Australian standards, GST, ATO lodgement, and proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks. Hybrid remote work is negotiable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

As an Outsourced Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for supporting multiple clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance requirements. You will work closely with our accounting team and client managers to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial records.

Key responsibilities

Perform end-to-end bookkeeping using Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB

Process accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll

Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS statements

Assist with month-end reporting and management accounts

Maintain accurate records and support compliance with ATO regulations

Communicate with client managers to clarify transactions or resolve queries

Collaborate with internal accountants to support reporting and advisory tasks

About you

A minimum of 3 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a strong preference for experience working with Australian clients

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Bookkeeping

Understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST legislation, payroll compliance, and ATO lodgement requirements (preferred)

Proficient in cloud-based accounting platforms, especially Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks

Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate financial records and uphold high standards of data integrity

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines efficiently

Professional communication skills with a client-focused approach

Confident working independently in a remote environment while staying accountable and responsive to client and team needs

[Preferred] Australian University graduate or has spent more than 6 months living in Australia in the last 3 years.
