Job summary

Ara Damansara Medical Centre is seeking a qualified optometrist to perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose eye conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide vision-care guidance. You will operate diagnostic equipment, including LASIK calibration, and refer complex cases to ophthalmology as needed.

Collaborate with the biomedical team, maintain meticulous patient records, and participate in audits and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or equivalent.
• Registered with relevant professional body (if applicable).
• Minimum 1–2 years of working experience in a related field is an added advantage.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision, diagnose eye conditions, and determine appropriate treatments.
• Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
• Operate and maintain specialized diagnostic equipment, including LASIK machine calibration, settings, and treatment planning.
• Identify eye abnormalities such as glaucoma and other ocular conditions.
• Provide professional advice and reassurance to patients regarding vision care.
• Refer patients to Ophthalmologists or relevant healthcare professionals when further medical treatment is required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in managing patients with chronic eye conditions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
• Train and mentor junior Optometrists in equipment usage and clinical procedures.

Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision, diagnose eye conditions, and determine appropriate treatments.

Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.

Operate and maintain specialized diagnostic equipment, including handling LASIK machine (calibration, settings, and treatment planning).

Identify eye abnormalities such as glaucoma, color vision deficiency, and other ocular conditions.

Provide professional advice, guidance, and reassurance to patients regarding vision care.

Refer patients to Ophthalmologists or relevant healthcare professionals when further medical treatment is required.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in managing patients with chronic eye conditions.

Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and perform routine weekly and monthly checks in coordination with Biomedical Department.

Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and documentation.

Participate in meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives.

Support clinical audits, data compilation, and quality programs when required.

Train and mentor junior Optometrists in equipment usage and clinical procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
