Job summary

Poet Technologies Pte Ltd in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced engineer to support Optical Interposer yield improvement through data-driven defect analysis and root-cause resolution. You will collaborate with fabrication partners and internal teams to ensure high-quality, manufacturable designs.

Responsibilities include leading yield initiatives, performing statistical analyses (JMP, regression, DMAIC), documenting failure modes, and presenting findings to guide corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a process integration field with 5+ years of experience in yield improvement.
• Strong foundation in semiconductor physics and engineering fundamentals, with understanding of failure mechanisms.
• Experience with statistical analysis tools and DMAIC problem-solving approaches; Python programming is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Optical Interposer products focusing on yield and performance optimization.
• Lead yield improvement and defect reduction initiatives across optical engine designs.
• Conduct data analysis, problem characterization, and root-cause fault isolation for yield-related issues.
• Define and document failure modes, material impact, and fallout percentages to guide corrective actions.
• Monitor and present yield data from fabrication partners.
• Implement checklists and lessons learned to support yield-improvement activities.
• Perform yield correlation and failure-analysis work (electrical, optical, physical).
