Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Executive to manage end-to-end project delivery in the machinery/automation sector. You will drive risk mitigation, coordinate with Sales Support and Program Management, and ensure on-time delivery and quality across all project phases.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics engineering background with strong leadership, communication, and planning skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Relevant working experience in machinery/automation and project management is a plus.
• Strong technical acumen, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lead, manage resources, work under pressure and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Accept project from Sales Support and drive risk mitigation (technical, material, and skills).
• Plan and commit to customer project delivery dates and communicate scope to the team.
• Publish and review project plan with the team; ensure tasks follow schedule and quality.
• Ensure materials are procured and delivered on time; coordinate with Program Manager for plan changes.
• Drive on-time delivery through progress tracking and recovery actions; ensure design reviews meet specs.
• Ensure installation plans with field service and final acceptance by internal QA.
• Assist with project wrap-up, data updates, and handover to customers.

In this role, you will be involved in accepting projects from Sales Support and driving risk mitigation across technical, material supply, and skills requirements. You will plan and commit to customer project delivery dates, ensure clear communication of project scope and specifications to the team, and oversee execution according to schedule and quality standards.

Impact You Will Make

Accept project from Sales Support (Contract Review) and immediately drive risk mitigation (both technical, material supply, and skills needed)

Ensure project scope including specification/customer requirement and due date are communicated clearly to the project team

Plan and commit to the customer on the project delivery date and ensure that the project is delivered on time

Publish the project plan after reviewing it with the project team (Project review and kickoff). Project team members shall execute the tasks allocated to them following the required schedule with the right quality

Ensure tasks are progressing according to the plan. Perform recovery plan to ensure on-time delivery

Ensure that the tasks completed are meeting the specification (Design Review)

Ensure that the materials needed for the project are procured and delivered on time

Work closely with Program Manager in case of the project plan change and ensure acceptance from customers

Ensure project changes are communicated clearly to the project team

Ensure quality assembly and tuning of the project

Ensure the installation plan is set with field service to ensure smooth installation at the customer end

Ensure the project is accepted by internal quality inspection

Ensure proper project wrap-up prior to project shipment such that technical data is correctly updated, and excess materials are returned to stock

Ensure project acceptance by customers during pre-buy-off (where applicable)

Ensure action follow-up during project installation at the customer site

Ensure the final project acceptance of the project by the customer

Ensure the final project documentation is delivered to the customer

Show strong leadership skills among the project team members

Any tasks that may be assigned to you from time to time

Our Ideal Candidate

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering or relevant.

Relevant working experience in the machinery/automation industry and project management will be an added advantage.

Possess strong technical acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills.

Possess strong management, leadership, and resourceful skills; mature, self-motivated, analytical, independent, initiative, responsible, and able to work under pressure.

Good time management.

Computer literate and excellent in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel)
