The Operations Manager oversees and directs all daily plant operations across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Facilities within a high-speed FMCG environment. This role drives operational excellence, ensures rigorous food safety and hygiene compliance, optimizes Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and ensures seamless execution of high-volume product output to meet customer service level targets while maintaining strict cost containment.
Oversee high-volume daily manufacturing across high-speed packaging and processing lines to meet production schedules and fill-rate targets.
Optimize shift handovers, changeover times, line speeds, and mass balance to reduce product giveaway and material scrap.
Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and hygienic design practices on production lines.
Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives tailored to FMCG operations.
Partner with Quality Assurance to uphold international food safety standard certifications and regulatory mandates.
Enforce strict compliance with HACCP plans, allergen management protocols, sanitation standards, and trace-and-recall procedures across all production and facility operations.
Lead a culture of zero-harm safety, ensuring line ergonomics, chemical handling compliance, and machine guarding meet high EHS standards.
Direct Total Productive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance programs for processing and packaging automation.
Minimize unplanned line downtime and lead quick root-cause analyses (RCA) on critical line stoppages.
Oversee sanitation maintenance cycles, CIP (Clean-in-Place) system validation, and equipment breakdown turnarounds.
Manage plant engineering activities, including automation, robotics, conveyor systems, and line modifications for New Product Introductions (NPI).
Lead Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects, overseeing vendor selection, line commissioning, and Factory Acceptance Testing for new process equipment.
Drive energy efficiency, water footprint reduction, and sustainable packaging automation initiatives.
Manage facility infrastructure, ensuring robust operation of food-grade critical utilities: steam boilers, compressed air, HVAC, chillers.
Maintain physical facility integrity to prevent pest ingress, cross-contamination, and structural hazards.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management.
7+ years of progressive operational leadership in food manufacturing, beverage, or high-speed FMCG manufacturing environments.
Proven track record managing cross-functional technical teams (Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities).
Knowledge in GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.
Ability to make fast, data-driven decisions in a fast-moving, short-shelf-life product environment
