Job summary

Verdant Solar offers an Operations & Maintenance Intern position for the Sept intake in Malaysia. You will be embedded with the core team and empowered to initiate projects to speed up operational processes.

Roles include system monitoring, field support, documentation, and safety compliance, with opportunities to grow into a full-time position based on performance. Requirements include a degree or diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and local Malaysian

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering fields.
• Malaysian local students only.
• Own transport and willingness to travel for on-site support in the Northern Region.
• Basic knowledge in electrical systems and maintenance safety regulations.
• Willingness to learn, good problem-solving, communication, and task prioritization.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced team with ownership.

Responsibilities

• System Monitoring: Track daily solar plant performance and alarms, verify inverter statuses, support LPP data analysis.
• Field & Preventive Support: Assist on-site inspections, cleaning supervision, electrical checks, PPE prep.
• Documentation & Claims: Draft maintenance reports, update logs, compile docs/photos for claims.
• Technical Connections: Help with troubleshooting and on-site recovery for offline systems.
• Client & Logistics Coordination: Schedule maintenance, handle inquiries, coordinate with supply chain.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety guidelines and PPE usage across operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Organize data, drive process improvements, assist with ad-hoc tasks.

Education

Operations & Maintenance Intern (Sept Intake)

At Verdant Solar, we see interns as part of our core team! You are empowered to initiate projects and experiment with your wildest ideas with one end goal: speed up our operational processes.

We are currently looking for go-getters to join our team to help us with:

System Monitoring: Assist in tracking daily solar plant performance and alarms , verifying inverter statuses , and supporting engineers with Low Peak Performance (LPP) data analysis.

Field & Preventive Support: Assist engineers with on-site inspections, cleaning supervision, electrical component checks, and tool/PPE preparation.

Documentation & Claims: Assist in drafting preventive maintenance reports, updating internal platform logs, and compiling documentation/photos for insurance or warranty cases.

Technical Connections: Provide hands‑on assistance during corrective troubleshooting, check basic electrical and AC/DC components , and support on‑site recovery for offline systems (WiFi/logger setups).

Client & Logistics Coordination: Assist in scheduling customer maintenance appointments, handle basic inquiries, and coordinate with Supply Chain for replacement parts and logistics.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with company safety guidelines and practice proper PPE usage during all operations.

Continuous Improvement: Support data organization, operational enhancement initiatives, and complete ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related engineering fields.

Open to local Malaysian students only.

Possess own transport and willing to travel for on‑site support across theNorthern Region.

Basic knowledge in electrical systems, a passion for hands‑on work, and a solid grasp of maintenance safety regulations.

Willingness to learn, strong problem‑solving skills, excellent communication, and great task prioritization.

Able to work independently and proactively in a fast‑paced team, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
