Responsibilities

• Attend inquiries and provide accurate information to counterparts.

• Quote Ocean freight and local charges to local and network teams.
• Identify suitable processes for every inquiry to procurement.
• Interlock between Product and Commercial on rates and market information.
• Manage RFQs from Tender Management and ensure timely submissions.
• Provide visibility of proposed selling rates to support profitable new business.
• Utilize critical thinking for rate negotiation and P&L measures.
• Monitor adherence of pricing to agreed standards.
• Deliver high-performance service culture and drive process improvements.

Job Title: Operations Assistant, Sea Freight Pricing and Development

Salary Range: RM 3,500 - RM 5,000

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Overview

This role is responsible for managing ocean freight tender submissions, validating pricing accuracy, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring all tender documentation is properly prepared and maintained. You will support both local and international tender processes while ensuring timely reporting and rate accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Local and Network Inquiry

• Attend local and network (overseas) inquiries and provide accurate information to counterparts.
• Support the Pricing and Trade Lane strategy and execute the pricing strategy for branches.
• Quote Ocean freight and local charges to local and network teams.
• Identify suitable processes for every inquiry sent to the procurement team.
• Act as an interlock between Product and Commercial for matters concerning rates and market information.
• Manage RFQs received from Tender Management and ensure submissions meet deadlines.
• Provide visibility of proposed selling rates and support product and commercial teams to ensure profitable new business growth on RFI/RFP/RFQ.
• Utilize critical thinking for rate negotiation and measuring profit and loss.
• Monitor adherence of pricing and procurement to agreed standards.
• Work with the team and superiors for timely RFQ submissions.
• Deliver a high-performance service culture.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts within the area of responsibility (e.g., collaboration, systems, processes).
• Prepare tender records received from Global, Country, or Local levels.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by superiors.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in logistics, freight, supply chain, tender management, or pricing.
• Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
