Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production Engineering or related fields.
• Five years of experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, 5S, OEE, RCA and PDCA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Hands-on on production floor and GEMBA activities.
• Experience in steel fabrication, PVC, mechanical/engineering manufacturing or cooling tower industry is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and improve manufacturing and operational processes to identify bottlenecks, waste and opportunities.
• Conduct GEMBA Walks and drive shopfloor improvements.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Standard Work initiatives.
• Improve productivity, capacity, OEE and downtime.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and QAQC to improve flow and quality.
• Reduce Reject, Rework, Scrap and other losses.
• Identify opportunities to reduce material, labour, outsourcing, logistics and operating costs.
• Improve warehouse, material handling, packing and logistics processes.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects and track KPIs and results.
• Analyse operational data and report progress to management.

Looking for an Operational Excellence Engineer to drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing and operational processes. The role focuses on improving productivity, quality, delivery, cost and process efficiency through GEMBA, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and data-driven improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse and improve manufacturing and operational processes to identify bottlenecks, waste and improvement opportunities.

Conduct regular GEMBA Walks and drive practical shopfloor improvements.

Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Standard Work initiatives.

Improve productivity, capacity, OEE and downtime.

Work with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and QAQC to improve process flow, quality and efficiency.

Reduce Reject, Rework, Scrap and other operational losses.

Identify opportunities to reduce material, labour, outsourcing, logistics and operating costs.

Improve warehouse, material handling, packing and logistics processes.

Lead cross-functional improvement projects and track KPIs and results.

Analyse operational data and report improvement progress to management.

Key Requirements:

Possesses Diploma or Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production Engineering or related fields.

Have 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.

Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, OEE, Root Cause Analysis and PDCA.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.

Hands-on approach with the ability to work on the production floor and conduct GEMBA activities.

Experience in steel fabrication, PVC, mechanical/engineering manufacturing or cooling tower industry is an advantage.
