Job summary

Comet Group, Plasma Control Technologies division, is seeking an Operational Buyer for our Penang site to manage end-to-end procure-to-pay processes, source suppliers, negotiate quotations, and monitor deliveries in a fast-paced production environment.

You will collaborate with Planning, Production, Logistics, and R&D teams, driving cost optimization while maintaining high-quality purchasing operations and strong supplier relationships. Fluency in English is required; German is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational purchasing, procurement, or supply chain activities.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, monitor deadlines, and ensure accurate order processing.
• Good IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office; SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA experience is an advantage.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills; German language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) process to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality purchasing operations.
• Source suppliers, request and negotiate quotations, and place purchase orders while tracking order status and confirmations.
• Monitor delivery schedules, expedite critical orders, and ensure supplier commitments are met.
• Verify invoices, resolve supplier issues and complaints, and drive cost optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production, Logistics, and R&D teams while supporting procurement process improvements and operational excellence.

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You'll Do
