Job summary

BENGTENG TRUCKKING SERVICES SDN BHD is seeking a driver-focused professional to join our logistics team. You will interview and hire drivers with HR, train both new and existing drivers, and plan and direct customer orders to ensure on-time deliveries.

You will monitor driver performance, assist in fleet maintenance, coordinate with inter-department and subcontract transporters, and support halal audits and license renewals as required.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Higher Secondary/STPM/“A” Level/Pre-U, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, any field
• Candidate must possess good communication skills, negotiation skills, management planning skills and interpersonal skills
• Independently on problem solving and decision making
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Possess license GDL D will be an added advantage
• At least 1-3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, selection and hiring new drivers with HR Department PIC
• Training new and existing drivers
• Planning, assigning and directing customer’s orders
• Addressing driver’s performance and corrective action plans
• Responsible in planning and monitoring to ensure timely departure and arrival of deliveries
• Assists & support the smooth running of the day-to-day operations
• Assists in providing regular update on any changes to route/trip schedules or upcoming route/trip
• S/O preparation on transport management system (TMS) after planning
• Assist & support on fleet management and fleet maintenance
• Responsible in all reports and records requested by the management
• To coordinate with inter-department, sub-contract transporters on delivery arrangement to meet tight delivery schedule
• Responsible for ensuring that all trucks are adequately provided with provision
• Reports to management to alert them of any issues with delivering or receiving
• Support Halal Audit, when required
• Assists for all government license application/renewal, when required
• 24/7 standby On-Call inclusive of public holidays
• As backup driver, when required (*different wages scheme)
• To perform any other task and assignments as directed by the Management from time to time

Bengteng also have more than 150 units of refrigerated trucks, ranging from 3 tonner to 10 tonners, which enable us to meet our customers' needs and requirements.
