Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of operations or production management, preferably in semiconductor/electronics/refurbishment industries.
• Strong knowledge of IC chip extraction, semiconductor handling and electronics manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with Malaysian manufacturing regulations, SST exemptions, and customs audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily factory operations for semiconductor refurbishment, IC extraction and general manufacturing processes.
• Monitor outputs, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage manpower and machine utilization to maximize productivity while ensuring quality.
• Lead and develop production supervisors, technicians, and floor operators.

GL Tech is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee our daily factory operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in semiconductor processes—specifically IC chip extraction and refurbishment—and a proven track record of optimizing production lines, managing teams, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

A. Production & Process Management

• Oversee Daily Operations: Direct and coordinate factory activities related to semiconductor refurbishment, IC chip extraction and general manufacturing processes.
• Optimize Efficiency: Monitor production output against targets, identify bottlenecks in the extraction or refurbishment line, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resource Allocation: Manage manpower allocation and machine utilization to ensure maximum productivity without compromising quality.

B. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

• Customs & Tax Compliance: Ensure all factory operations align with Royal Malaysian Customs Department requirements, particularly maintaining strict documentation and adherence to SST exemptions and toll manufacturing guidelines.
• Quality Control: Enforce rigorous QA/QC standards throughout the IC extraction and refurbishment process to minimize defect rates and ensure output meets client specifications.
• Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring proper handling of electronic components and extraction machinery.

C. Supply Chain & Inventory Control

• Inventory Management: Oversee raw material intake, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory to prevent stockouts or overcapacity on the factory floor.
• Vendor Coordination: Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of necessary materials and the dispatch of refurbished components.

D. Leadership & Team Development

• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production supervisors, technicians and floor operators.
• Performance Tracking: Set clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the production team and conduct regular performance reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of operations or production management experience, preferably within the semiconductor, electronics manufacturing or tech refurbishment industries. Education requirement is not mandatory if candidate possess sufficient experience.
• Technical Knowledge: General manufacturing know-how. Deep understanding of IC chip extraction, semiconductor handling and electronic manufacturing processes.
• Regulatory Familiarity: Strong working knowledge of Malaysian manufacturing regulations, including Customs audits, SST exemptions and standard factory compliance.
• Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong leadership presence etc
