About the role

seeking an experienced Operating Theatre Nurse to join our healthcare team in Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care within the operating theatre environment. As an Operating Theatre Nurse, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth surgical procedures, maintaining strict aseptic conditions, and providing comprehensive support to the surgical team. This role is essential to our mission of providing high-quality surgical care and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

Preparing the operating theatre environment, including sterilisation of instruments, equipment setup, and maintenance of aseptic conditions

Assisting surgical teams during operative procedures by providing instruments and materials as required

Monitoring and recording patient vital signs and responses throughout surgical procedures

Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all instruments, swabs, and equipment used during surgery

Ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilised and stored according to protocols

Providing immediate post-operative care and monitoring of patients in the recovery phase

Communicating effectively with surgical teams to anticipate needs and ensure procedural efficiency

Adhering to infection control procedures and maintaining a safe surgical environment

Supporting patients emotionally and providing reassurance before and after procedures

Participating in ongoing training and maintaining current knowledge of surgical techniques and best practices

What we're looking for

Registered Nurse qualification with current licensure to practise nursing in Malaysia

Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working in an operating theatre or surgical environment

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control protocols

Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Outstanding attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping skills

The ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff

Strong communication skills and the capacity to remain calm under pressure

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks as required

Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with clinical advancements

Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent certification is desirable
