Job summary

Ssquad Global in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a motivated L1 Network Engineer to provide onsite network monitoring, first-level troubleshooting, and support at a client site. You will monitor networks, respond to alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate more complex issues to L2/L3 teams as needed.

The role requires basic hands-on experience with network monitoring, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and exposure to Fortinet/FortiGate and Palo Alto technologies.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in Network Engineering, NOC, or Network Support.
• Basic hands-on with enterprise networking environments.
• Good understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, and IP networking.
• Exposure to Fortinet/FortiGate and Palo Alto Networks preferred.
• Experience with network monitoring tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure, devices, links, and connectivity using monitoring tools.
• Handle L1 network incidents, service requests, and alerts within SLAs.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of networking issues (LAN/WAN/VPN).
• Troubleshoot basic routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall issues.
• Support Fortinet/FortiGate and Palo Alto firewall environments.
• Escalate complex incidents to L2/L3 with complete details.
• Maintain accurate incident and ticket documentation.
• Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and on-site teams during outages.
