Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia seeks an EHS professional to support inspections and lead safety initiatives on-site in Penang. The role focuses on compliance with DOSH regulations, committee activities, and ongoing audits across the factory environment.

Applicants should have a degree or diploma in engineering, science, or quality management, with 3–5 years of EHS experience and relevant registrations. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in engineering, science, quality management or equivalent.
• Registered Green Book holder from DOSH Malaysia preferred; other registrations are a plus.
• Training recognized by DOSH, DOE, NIOSH, DAE and other authorities.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in the EHS field.
• Knowledge of Malaysian safety, health and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in relevant governmental department inspections.
• Support Safety and Health Committee activities, audits and maintain records.
• Conduct internal safety and health audits and follow-up for closure of corrective actions.
• Assist the EHS team in maintaining an active Emergency Response Team (ERT) and coordinate trainings.
• Conduct machine/equipment buy-off for all new machines or equipment in the factory.
• Conduct EHS trainings and briefings to employees.
• Ensure permits for contractors are enforced and contractors comply with EHS requirements.
• Coordinate EHS monitoring activities and follow up on actions.
