Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Resident Geologist to support supervision and monitoring of geological conditions for a major hydropower dam project in Pahang, Malaysia. You will oversee field observations, assess rock mass behavior, and ensure compliance with design assumptions and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in dam construction, hydropower, or geotechnical projects.
• Strong knowledge of geological mapping, rock mechanics, and foundation treatment.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor geological conditions during dam construction.
• Review geological mapping, excavation records, and foundation treatments.
• Assess rock mass conditions and identify geological risks.
• Verify excavation and foundation works meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Support grouting, slope stabilization, and foundation improvements.
• Prepare geological reports, site records, and technical recommendations.
• Participate in inspections, site investigations, and technical reviews.
