Job summary
Trane Technologies in Shah Alam, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced engineer to drive modernization of installed base. You will visit client sites to identify aging HVAC/BMS controllers and propose upgrades and services contracts, enabling cloud-connected assets for AI-driven energy services.
The role requires a degree in mechanical/electrical engineering and at least 3 years in HVAC/building automation. Travel will be frequent; strong communication with facility managers is essential.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years in HVAC/building automation industry.
- Willingness to travel frequently to client sites.
- Knowledge of IoT, cloud and AI is a plus.
- Strong communication with facility managers and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to audit current control systems and HVAC assets.
- Identify digital gaps: outdated or non-cloud-enabled controllers.
- Maintain a database of installed base and tag AI-Ready sites.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for controller upgrades and IoT gateway installations.
- Explain upgrade needs to facility managers/clients/consultants.
- Coordinate with the fulfilment team for installation labour and cabling pricing.
- Bridge the client’s technical team with our digital offerings.
- Demo basic cloud platform capabilities.
- Follow up on service quotations to close retrofit projects.
