Job summary

Strato Solutions Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Offshore Geospatial Data Specialist (GIS) for a 3-year contract. The role supports offshore GIS data management, validation, and QA to ensure accurate geospatial information aligned with operational needs.

The candidate will have hands-on offshore and hydrographic survey experience using ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap and spatial databases, working with GIS, surveying, and data teams to maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years' cumulative experience in offshore GIS surveying.
• Minimum two (2) years' hands-on experience performing Quality Check and Quality Assurance of spatial or survey data using ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, or equivalent GIS software.
• Minimum one (1) year's hands-on experience working with spatial databases (SDE / Geodatabase, MSSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL).
• Participation in minimum one (1) offshore or hydrographic survey campaign, stating the campaign name, client, location, and period.
• Minimum two (2) years' cumulative experience on Oil & Gas industry projects or clients.

Responsibilities

• Support management, validation, and QA of geospatial and survey data in the GIS environment.
• Ensure spatial information is accurate, consistent, and reliable for operations.
• Perform QA/QC of E&P spatial data before and after loading into the Master Geodatabase.
• Maintain geospatial data integrity per industry standards.
• Collaborate with GIS, surveying, and data management teams.

OFFSHORE GEOSPATIAL DATA SPECIALIST / GIS SURVEYOR (OFFSHORE)

CONTRACT DURATION: 3 YEARS
LOCATION: KUALA LUMPUR CITY CENTRE (KLCC)

The Offshore Geospatial Data Specialist or also called the GIS Surveyor (Offshore) will support the management, validation, and quality assurance of geospatial and survey data within the Company's GIS environment. The role involves working closely with GIS, surveying, and data management teams to ensure spatial information is accurate, consistent, reliable, and aligned with operational requirements. The successful candidate should have practical experience in offshore and hydrographic survey operations, together with hands-on knowledge of GIS software and spatial databases.

Responsible for performing Quality Check and Quality Assurance of E&P spatial data prior to and after loading into the Master Geodatabase. Applies industry best practices to ensure all GIS, geo-information, and related survey data are of high quality, integrity, and accuracy. Maintains geospatial data integrity in accordance with industry standards, with specific experience and exposure in offshore and hydrographic survey operations.
